The Feed My People Program (FMP) is the founding program for Foundation for the Homeless (FFH), open to anyone experiencing homelessness and poverty.  This long-standing program is a partnership of 15 religious congregations in the Austin Community.  Together we provide a filling, hot breakfast along with other limited services which can include, basic medical screening, eyeglasses, and assistance with obtaining identification documentation for individuals and families.  This Program is provided at First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 1300 Lavaca Street on Tuesday and Thursday (except Thanksgiving Day) from 5:30-8:00 am

Family Rehousing Initiative 

The Family Rehousing Initiative (FRI) program is a housing focused shelter and rapid rehousing program for families with children experiencing homelessness.  The primary purpose of FRI is to ensure that families who are experiencing homelessness have access to shelter, case management and rapid rehousing assistance.  FRI’s supportive services assist clients in transitioning from homelessness into permanent and stable housing.  Our housing focused shelter model motivates and guides families to stable housing as quickly as possible.

Foundation for the Homeless provides rapid re-housing through the Best Single Source Plus program for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.  This multi-agency collaborative focuses on case management for obtaining and maintaining safe and stable housing. 

 

The Foundation for the Homeless BSS+ Program is not currently accepting outside referrals.   Please call 211 if you are currently housed and need assistance. Families experiencing homelessness should complete the ECHO Coordinated Assessment.

Family Stability

Plus One

Plus One provides Electronic Utility asssitance for Austin Energy Customers who are in need of assistance in paying outstanding Austin Energy bills. FFH can only assist individuals twice per 12 months, and individuals can not have hit their assistance cap within the last 12 months. For more Information click  Plus One.

If you are seeking services:  Foundation for the Homeless accepts client referrals from the

Austin/Travis Country Continuum of Care Coordinated Assessment list.

 

In order to be accepted into Foundation for the Homeless services, individuals must complete the Coordinated Assessment and be referred by ECHO's Coordinated Entry.
